Zachary Barnes drowns saving a child and wakes in Beastworld as a reviled lynx—mate to black panther Matthew, father to abused cub Jaden. Earning trust, he hunts and stockpiles food. He learns his body was hijacked; the Beast God sent his soul to the modern world, twin drownings bringing him home. A snake bite merges both lives, exposing Wesley's scheme. Choosing Matthew anew, he faces a white-panther suitor, grows crops, learning home lies not in a body but in the people you build a life with.
