Celia is forced by his vicious stepbrother Anderson to be a human sacrifice to the dragon Heinrich, who claims Celia is his destined mate. Locked in the dragon’s castle, Celia suspects he only sees him as a substitute for Anderson, haunted by a cursed emerald ring the dragon fiercely guards. Desperate to save his sick younger sister Lily, Celia sneaks away repeatedly, risking deadly forest beasts. Each time, Heinrich races to shield him, bearing wounds transferred via their dragon bond. A scheming Anderson manipulates Celia with Lily’s life, luring him into traps and spreading lies to drive the pair apart. As Celia learns of the fatal Moonlight Spring that can burn dragons, he’s torn between his sister’s safety and the unexpected softness the cold beast shows him. Old childhood secrets and deadly curses loom, trapping the two in a tangled web of sacrifice, misunderstanding and quiet, forbidden affection.
