Botanist Flora Hayes is mysteriously transported to ancient times. On arrival, she's almost eaten by a wild beast, but is rescued by Rex, a tribal leader. Rex takes her in and declares her his woman. Flora expects a harsh life, yet Rex, the rugged "savage", turns out to be a skilled hunter and deeply loves her. With Rex's protection, Flora uses her knowledge to transform the tribe.
